Whatever Happened To Winner Breaks

Interesting point. When we used to play Winner breaks, we may have had MORE hili-hill matches. You figure it out.

I can remember tournaments with many matches that went 10-10, sometimes several in a round. There's a psychological factor at work here as well.
 
Are There Any Reliable Statistics?

IIRC I have heard it said by one emminent individual on this board that pros make a ball on the break 35% of the time.

So - Isn't winner break actually an equalizer?
 
the best breaking pros make a ball alot more than 35%, but most pros don't break well at all


alternate breaks suck, the last WPC proved that to me beyond doubt
