I have spoken to several Baltimore area cue makers and they all say they can't get these two good joint and ferrulle materials. If they could they would be using them almost exclusively and ivory of course.

I want to get some to hold onto just in case they go out of business or they pull a Cortland/bushka bumper move. I am looking for a small quantity for current work to be done changing my ferrulles and for future cue construction projects.

If anyone has some LBM & Ivorine 3 stock joints and ferrulles they are willing to unload? Please let me know.

Thanks!

I was told a while back by Atlas that neither is made anymore. No more melamine or ivorine 3. They do though now offer Ivorine 4 in ferrule rod (no tube)...its the hardest material I've ever seen and very clean with absolutely no trash specs. You have to cut it with carbide...hss will not do the trick. I'm not sure if they offer it in joint or buttcap sizes yet though.

Ivorite 3

What About Ivorite 3 from cuecomponents? I want the ivorine 3 or LBM because they are light in weight and much closer to the weight of wood. Additionally, they are soft and provide some cushion or shock absorbing on impact to avoid deflection. Any one try this material and is it anything like ivorine 3 or lbm??????
