I would just like to say, Eric is a friend. I met Eric at the Derby this year. I made a cue , he seen it, I finished it and delivered it to him in person there.
He was not what I expected I must say. He met us downstairs and greeted us as nice as anyone could. Not flashy, stuck up, or arrogant. He was very nice. I was with my dad and Eric treated us to a soda, we sat and talked for a couple hours about cues, life, friends, the tournament , everything.
Even though it was a short time, I got to know Eric and how he really was. I have seen the threads on here, but the guy I met at the Derby was great. Not just due to the sale of my cue, but the way he treated us. He was very respectful to me and my dad. Made time for us, and Eric really loves cues. Not just some rich guy who collects fancy cues, but knows the history, had a story behind several cues that was interesting.
At the end , he thanked us for hanging out with him and has stayed in contact with me ever since. A friend was made that day, not due to money, but due to the love of cues and the game of pool.
I am proud to call Eric my friend as I know the REAL Fatboy!
Thanx,
Jim Lee
