I've made a lot of cues over the past 12 years or so and am interested in what you people are using for finish out there. I used ppg DU2020 and the DU1000 which is a show car clear poly urethane. The DU1000 was the best at the time for me but they quit making it and its quite spendy. Appreciate any input.

Thanks

I've used Dupont Chroma clear for atleast 15 years. I love it. tacky after a few minutes, so repeat coats are easy & quick. Sands & polishes like a glass finish...JER

I've used Auto Chrome , very durable but pricey ... Also Sherwin Williams has a couple of lines of clear coat that I've tried that are good , very reasonably priced ... Easy to work with ...

Thanks guys, do you get a lot of chipping around the bottom of the butt cap or at the joint areas. How much is spendy and can I get these at a auto paint store?

Are you spraying with an airbrush, touch up gun, or regular gun. Thanks,

Patrick, That DC3000 is like DU1000 replacement isn't it? Have you ever tried that dupont chroma clear? Messing around with new finish is scary, don't know what it will look like 5, 10, or more years down the road...

I am not sure about it being a replacement. I just know it is a very good clear! I havent tried Chroma clear yet. I really like the 2021 though! You have to have a lot of patients with it though or it is run city!

Checked out your gallery, some sweet stuff!!! I had a lot of chipping problems with the 2020 but the 1000 is sweet, my personal cue is about eleven years old and the finish is in pretty good shape yet. Thanks for the info let me know if your ever in Des Moines sometime.
