What's the best way to mark a table for drills?

...especially if I'm at my local pool hall? I've heard of using the notebook hole reinforcers, but I'm worried that the owner might not like that, or worse yet, leaves adhesive on the cloth. Lately I've been using chalkboard chalk, but even that can be a b-tch to brush off. A hundred faint dashes later, and I just feel like a mook. Any thoughts?? Next, I'm gonna try the "mini" sidewalk chalk, as it's a finer texture. I'll let you know how it all goes.
