Thanks this is the answer i was looking for and it clears the rule in my mind and shows Player B made the right call ...

The other thing you will realize if you play for a while is that although safety play is legal and a big part of the game, there is no situation where it is actually necessary to call it out loud.

You can't call the money ball "just in case". You can't call any ball "just in case". You can only call one ball, one shot. There is no "just in case".
