Whats the deal with e-bay ?

I am not sure if this is the right forum, but what is the deal with e-bay & pool cues/supplies ?

I have seen a bunch of threads warning people about certain sellers on e-bay.

Are there a lot of scamers on e-bay selling fake cues or inferiour products ?

Would it be helpful to make a "sticky" of rip-off artist, scammers, & basic bad guys ?

Do you usually find something & ask here if it sounds like a honest deal ?

Scammers and fakers will change their ID's too often for a list to make much difference. The only thing to do is when you find one, report it to ebay and report it here, preferably while the auction is going.

There is also alot of un-necessary paranio with ebay. I have done tons
buying transactions on ebay. Not once have I had a problem. ie, i've never had to place a negative on anyone with whom I've dealt. Just use common sense, and watch the az, cause theres some good folks on here, who watch and report whenever a shady one comes up. You too can keep a look-see.

ebay shady dealing

ebay has it's share of scrupulous dealers and the others also. a few months ago a guy i won't mention at the moment put up some micarta ferrules he said were the original ferrules for schon cues. i bought some and lo and behold they may have been original to some schon cues but they certainly were not the original ferrules used on schons.
i wrote him a nice email(tongue in cheek) and he refunded all of my money including postage! (paypal transaction). a bit of research on azbilliards goes a long, long way towards being in the know as opposed to flying blind on ebay. i try to always check #/type of feedback. had maybe a couple of real problems.
i would feel absolutely no remorse in exposing hustlers or ripoffs. having said that; i do spend a bunch of time on ebay(picked up the micarta ferruled schon shaft, the inexpensive vincitore case, cardinal fishing reels, and other things i just ain't going to expose to the crazy people on azbilliards who would then become my bidding competitors)
some guys will be forever shunned by azbers because of negative true statements made on azb. others not knowing any potential problems will pay some costs for that knowledge. i am happy to hear of problems for my own good, not to delight in other's problems. that is my take on ebay reports on azb. keep telling what is up-positive and negative.
