what's the largest air barrel you've ever seen fired at someone?

Why have we not gone after all the mass murderers in Africa buddy. That's been going on a lot longer than the fiasco in Iraq! I will tell ya why, MONEY, OIL and POWER! There isn't anything for us to gain by sticking our nose in Africa dude. Wake up.

Don,

I am about as conservative as they come and all I can say is, BADA BING!

Well does anyone think that North Korea is a threat to the U.S.? They havent done anything yet, but they have ignored UN policies and have leaked info about a nuclear missle that may reach the U.S. Should we wait and see if that happens or for the best interest of humanity stop it before it happens? And as for Saddam Hussein, he had shown a willingness to torture and kill his own people...why wouldnt he hesitate to strike the U.S.? That is a true mass murdrer. No one in their right minds can say that Iraq would not be better of with an established government compared to the way of life those people have been a customed to.

Ok, last comment (by me) here because this belongs in NPR and we have hijacked this guy's thread.
Wait on Saddam?
If I walk up to some guy in a bar and punch him in the face for no reason, am I justified because I didn't want to "wait on him" to hit me first?
For what? Nukes that weren't there?
Yes, he's a psycho that we heavily supported for many years.
Lots of psycho leaders out there. And like Saddam, they pose no threat to the US.
And we also refused to comply with the UN decision when we sent in troops.
Truth is Iraq, as a nation, would have most likely never been an attack threat to the United States.

Your arguement about a some guy in a bar holds no water. How many guys in a bar do you know that kills his own people, has a well known disdain for the US and its freedoms, is a documented psychopath, and is trying to develop weapons of mass distruction? If you know of any, then I suggest you do more than punch him.

Well corvette, that is your opinion and I must say you have every right in the world to express it. I call anybody responsible for the death of 650,000 innocent people a mass murderer. As far as the troops and their familys, I would be more than happy to compare notes with you about how much support you and I have given them. You will come out the loser in that catagory, I can assure you. Your language need much to be desired also. I believe your choice of words reflects more about your charactor than mine do. Have another glass of cool aid buddy. It's folks like you that are destroying this world to line your own pockets.

PS: I don't hate anyone, whats your problem?

So, to get this absolutely correct, we should have done nothing to Iraq and Saddam for not biding by the UN sanctions that EVERY other country is suppose to abide by in order for world peace to exist? We wait on some lunatic that has expressed time and time again how much he hates the American people and ideals to get his weapons. Then we wait some more for him to use those weapons that he developed due to the rules he was ignoring? I would rather nip him in the bud BEFORE he gets those weapons and uses them on us. Your argument about the innocent people shows how ignorant you are. So, we wait until he kills thousands of our innocent people and then we invade? Like I said, its so easy to criticize someone that takes all the necessary precautions to protect our freedoms. Even if they are a bit extreme and maybe all aren't necessary, wouldn't you like to avoid another 911 type incident and not have everone say "I told ya so, you liberal moron"?

Hey guys, let's keep the political talk and the tipping talk in the Non pool forum please, these really left the topic at hand thanks to Bruce being stingy :D

The only necessary precaution would have been a sniper bullet corvette.
Not billions of US dollars that could have been used to provide health care, education, medicine and to better our quality of life.
Show me where Sadam or any other Iraq citizen had anything to do with 911. Ah, the Saudis did, why didn't we just kill their leaders huh? Cause they are our friends? BS my friend. It was about OIL, MONEY and POWER!
Like the man said, this does not belong in this forum. I kindly agree to disagree with you corvette. Have a wonderful life.

I was tossed air for $2,500 (now paid)...I've had $1,000+ air shot at me by the same person, twice - but got paid both times... the biggest barrel, still unpaid, thrown at me would be $600.

I don't know about single biggest barrel, but I've seen some guys shooting for $1,000+ without a dime in their pocket... Everyone I've seen do this happens to win the sets, however.

Biggest air-barrel I've ever thrown was like $10.

Lesson here is to make em post. I think only one guy at Hollywood Billiards gets the green light from me to play high and not post. You know who I am talking about Aze.

Got caught one time shooting air. It was for something cheap like 40 bucks. After that I didn't care how bad the guy played I always made sure I had money in my pocket.

This thread reminded me of a passage from "The Green Felt Jungle," by Gerald Huber. Speaking about Shannon Daulton Huber said that, "recently, Daulton quit Flyboy in the middle of a $40,000 set in Baton Rouge and left town without ever finishing the set."

Does anybody know anything more about this story?

So............. you never tip servers?

lol, mass murderer? Are you on crack? George W. has and continues to stay in Iraq and other middle east countries to protect your stoned ass. Its so easy for everyone to say that he is being ridiculous in the way he handles diplomacy and that he should pull out of those countries. The way I see it, better safe than sorry. All it takes is for ONE of those idiots to pull another scenario similar to 911 and then what would all the liberals be saying? "Oh, well, I guess we were wrong he SHOULD have been that tough and cautious". I hate people that can't see the fact that he's taking all precautions to protect this country. My support and respect goes out to all the soldiers and families that provide that protection. My heartfelt sympathy also goes out to all the individuals and families that have lost someone as a result of the wars on terror and middle eastern conflicts. For you to call him a mass murderer is a goddamn disgrace and reflects poorly on you.

GREAT POST.........

Thats the stupid thing about it. I have no problem with tipping, usually twice the tax amount. which is roughly 18-20%. However when the bill gets to be $200 I kind of have a problem throwing a $40 tip just because the food was a little nicer and more expensive. They still did the same job as someone bringing me a $7 cheeseburger at TGIFridays. Thats kind of why I hate the fact that I end up paying the difference from $2.15 to minimum wage and then tip on top of that. Heck some servers make far more than I do, but they also work harder, as I type this at work.

BTW Someone asked earlier what an Air Barrel was and noone truely answered. It is playing a set for money representing that you have it and when you lose you do not. Or you could play with an air barrel and win and he pays you that amount. now you are playing fully on his money.

Well, ya got me wrong again Bruce. I am an independant. I won't vote for Hilliary and I sure as hell will not vote for anybody that supported that mass murderer George Bush. The only thing I am guilty of Bruce is being a compassionate, giving human being who believes every human deserves to be treated with dignity and resoect no matter where they work. At least they are working and not sitting around wondering why they have so little! Bruce, I will make a suggestion to ya buddy. Go out and buy a small book titled "The Seven Spiritual Laws to Success". There I believe you will find the answer to your poverty mentality. Only you can change it. Good luck Bruce, and I hope you are real proud of yourself.

Well what ever happened to the idea of working for the money the job paid, before the invention of the tip jar?

Been there done that, and accepted the job for what the job paid. Plus if that was not enough, get a second job, or part time jo.

Like many generations before did in the old America... BT Before Tip Jar.

In a more expensive restaurant the servers usually have less tables at the same time and also should be held to a higher quality of service. A server in a $5-$10 per entree place may have 5-8 tables and a $40-$75 per entree place may only have 2 or maybe 3 at any given time. The less expensive places also usually flip the tables a lot faster compared to the more expensive. 45 minutes to an hour compared to 1 1/2 to 2 hours or more. One place makes money in volume and the other in quality and the overall experience. Custom cue vs production cue.

The servers in a fine dinning restaurant are also more likely to have made this a career than in the less expensive places. Rarely does a server start out at the more expensive places.

As far as air barrels goes, I have never played on air without telling the person before hand that I will have to get them back next time. I have been played on air a few times but never for big money. I love when I get up a couple of games and you can see them starting to sweat. At that point I like to just make a little game out of it since I know it is a long shot on getting paid and I'm not getting in a fight over a couple of $5 or $10 games.
