Im actually really suprised at some of these answers you guys are animals! I played once for 8 hours at a pool hall, but I thought that was a lot! Although I do have my own table so I practice quite a home everyday. Although I did see one guy mentioned "help" so maybe the 30-42 hours + sessions have something to do with that. Ive played poker for 36 hours though.

When I was a teen, I worked in a poolroom in Sacramento called Country Club Billiards. I would often get matched up during an evening shift and still be gambling when the morning guy showed up at 10:30. Being 1969 I, like some other posters alluded to, may have had some occasional "help" staying awake.
I often had 15 hour plus sessions and it was also the best I ever played. Hmmmm....played 15 hours a day and played better than I do now.....coincidence??????

Played 76 hours once when I was 20, taking 15 minute breaks every 4 hours, 1 hour breaks every 24 hours.
Played a few 30-40 hour sessions, even more 20-30 hour sessions, and many many 10-20 hours sessions. (some sessions were with multiple opponents).
When I say sessions, I mean playing someone for money.
I don't have the desire nor the time for it anymore.

In or around 1991, I started playing "Red" on a Friday night, during a big tournament in Raleigh. We were playing fifty a game nineball. They actually played the matches around us. Sunday morning, we called it quits. I don't remember any, except long bathroom, breaks. I know I had him 22 games down at one point. I know I was down eighteen games at one point. Those were the days.
I played from Thursday night at 9pm til Monday at 11am (I'm sad to say with a little help). This was 40 years ago. I believe this adds up to 86 hours. Eating junk food with maybe half hour breaks now and then. Made some good cash and had blisters on the bottom of my feet that took a couple of weeks to heal.

yeah getting old isn't for sissies .get all your complaints lined up, and then toughen up. i might play 4 hours now, but the game in which i get tired is a loss.like giving someone 1 on the wire, i have nowhere to reach down to for more strength.SJDinPHX said:
