What's the proper height of a table

I have a 8ft table and it seems a little lower than the diamond tables at JOB Billiards (where we play in town (Nashville,TN)).

What is the proper height for a 8ft (or any) table?

31" +/- 1" at the playing surface is considered regulation I believe,,,,,,,

According to the BCA and the WPA, the acceptable range for playing surface height is 29-1/4" to 31".

This accounts for uneven floors where one end is higher than the other to make the table level.
