What's up with this guy?

There was no left at aim... There may or may not have been during the stroke... It's called a swerve instead of pivot if he did end up hitting left of center and the effect is the same as BHE.....

The angle of the shot however required no left to be applied because the contact was going to put left on the cueball when it crosses the object ball's face........

I know this was meant to be a jibe at the guys using pivot systems but really it just shows that some folks still need to understand BHE and collision induced spin....

Maybe go hit some balls with an open mind would be a start...

. . . .or just, maybe, figure out how you need to figure out how to hit the ball where you need to hit it to make it go where you want it to go???

after playing for a while . . .

Some can, some can't, some are good, some aren't . . .

some will try to sell something who aren't to make them good.

Does it work????????

I hope so for the buyers sake . . .

What?

You know the old saying if you want to see what your wife will look like when she gets old then look at her mother?

Well, if you would like to see what pool COULD look like if it were to have some REAL money in it then look to the highest level professional sports. You know the ones that have enough money to do the research to find out what the optimum methods are for all aspects of their respective disciplines........

The ones where people who are not in the sport are willing to spend time researching the dynamics of it and figuring out the science to improve the athletic performance.......

That's what pool COULD be if it wasn't stuck at the level it is now with so many people having a just wing it attitude towards playing.

You people look at Efren and think he somehow sprang fully formed into the world as a champion.

He started playing when he was 8 years old. He was gambling soon afterward and was staked from the time he was 12. 12 and he was picked up after school to go play money matches.

And do you think Efren never got any instruction? Not only was he mentored but he also learned to be very observant and very focused. When he would see a fluke shot he would practice it until he could do it on purpose.

People who don't have the time to dedicate their lives to playing pool all day and who don't have mentors and backers have to look for instruction where they can get it. That instruction often comes from people who DO have the time to think about pool for a living.

It's not a bunch of scammers out to milk the pool fans. And furthermore if it didn't work then the TINY bit of money that is charged isn't enough to make people LIE about the product. Now, maybe if they spent $1000 on a cue and it as crap they might still hype it up hoping to recoup their $1000. But anyone who pays $39 for an instructional DVD has no reason to lie if the information is not helpful.

99% of the people selling pool instruction stuff are genuinely interested in helping others to play better pool.

Is there something wrong with that?

Some of us are new here, we don't get the inside jokes, maybe you @ssholes could clue us in? so we don't try to learn something that is obviously an inside joke?

Maybe you shouldn't call us assholes and then you could hang around long enough to learn what's going on.

That said, what the hell are you talking about?

How about...
I can't believe this guy can even make a shot when half of the spectators sound like they have tuberculosis.

Pretty much where i was going with this. . .sorry if I don't understand the terminology of swing and shift or whatever. the shot in question was an EASY SHOT. Whoinell doesn't think so?? and why??

Because it doesn't fit into YOUR idea of how it should be done??

I really don't get the whole point of this thread??

Hence my question about the inside joke..

and I'll be around for a while, I hope, made it 64 years so far:grin:

Once you practice backhand english until it becomes natural, you should be able to line up with english without having to pivot from center.

This looks to me like a combination of two techniques.

1. Devoting your whole life to the game

Combined with

2. Awesome ability.

For those of us with neither the time, nor the ability, we have to do the best we can with a few key thoughts.

"staying still" for example, is a good one.
