What's your choice of tip(s) and why?

Get about 3-4 rectal thermometers and break them in half. Pour out the mercury and soak the light weight tips in them for a few days. They should no longer be light, but if they still shoot shitty it might be for another reason. :p :D

LOL, right I'm going to get them out of my bag now LOL! I bought mine from seyberts I think so I doubt they are fakes. My mate bought his half price from a dealer in Bangkok so they're probably rat skin with sea sponge extract.

ok ok I shall put one on my cue and see for myself (how much mercury should I use?)

did i read that right...........a masse cue???

Yes. It is a Schuler masse' cue, 25 oz., 48 inchs long, and a 13mm nickel shaped Triangle tip (medium hardness). Very stiff euro taper shaft for banging the heck out of the ball. (Link below.)

I just play around with this cue at home, don't take it to tournaments. I can bang almost straight down on the cue ball with a lot of force and not worry about breaking the shaft. So I experiment with this and do things I would never do with my Predator 314 shaft.

I can get the cue ball to go forward, then come straight back without hitting anything. Or go forward and come back in an upside down "U" shape. Etc.

I pocketed my first ball during a game at home the other day with a curve shot around a blocking ball using this cue. First time I was able to do this during a game and have been practicing masse' shots for one year. I read that it can take 4 years to learn masse' shots though.

What the hell do you do...carry everything in a golf bag and pick the right stick for every shot. How about a cue for cut shots, straight in shots, short shots, long shots, and rail shots? If you were ever to make it big, you might be the first player out there with a full time caddy. ;) :D

I always thought it would be funny... to have golf bag *and* maybe an electric scooter. Shoot a shot, put cue back in bag, drive around to other side of table in scooter, select cue, and shoot shot, etc. Would certainly shark your opponent.

Last night at a tournament, someone broke and the ball jumped the table and rolled clear across the room. Someone yelled that he "had to play it from there". I got to thinking that it might be fun to play with golf balls instead of pool balls and actually use a golf club to shoot balls back onto the table.

Anyway some pool rules limit how many cues you can use. I think some do not allow jump cues, so you are limited to a break cue and a playing cue in some situations. I don't know what I'll do once (and if) I learn masse' shots. Maybe figure out some kind of combination masse'/break cue setup with a removable weight?

No jumpshots with the 314. I have yet to see someone be able to jump over a full ball with a 314. I definately cant with mine.
