But in all seriousness you are right, trips to Europe, the Middle East, the Phillipines etc sometimes several times a year are very expensive. Most who travel there do not come away with winnings that anywhere near match what it has cost them to travel and stay there.
Matchroom would never IMO drop their picks completely for Rankings picks, just because they rely on TV ratings and Sponsorship to survive. If for instance a top player (on either side) was out for many months with an injury and missed the first three or four ranking events, they would want to have the right to include them.
Anyway whoever gets picked this year will have a great time and for anyone new to the York Hall it will be a unique experience. The Cup returns to it's roots and it's as intimidating a venue as anything any of them, have ever or will ever play in. Those of us who are going will need to make our presence felt and give the boys all the support we can muster.
Actually thinking about it, I might need the support of the Team, as an ex Brit, now a US Citizen and of course supporting Team USA, I could come in for even more stick than them. Especially as I am sure to know a few of the European Fans.........oh well :thumbup2:
