When is the best time (skill level) to start lessons?

This sentence tells me that if you want the best bang for your buck, now is the time for lessons. If you get caught up with bad information about throw and spin today, you'll be like many of us who had to unlearn the terrible advice that we've received over the years and learn totally by rote. And sometimes, rote just plain sucks.
