When Snooker Ruled the World.

Wish I had the time to watch this right now.

I've been wishing that more of my pool playing friends had any interest in snooker. There's only one place here in town with a snooker table but man I'd like to get half way decent at the game one day.

Thanks for the link!!
I just watched the whole video and love it. The players....the tiny pockets...and those gorgeous football field sized tables..... I was in my 20's back then so the fashions and products all make sense. The best spent hour in a long time.

Brilliant! :)

Thanks John! What a great video. Well worth watching.

Let's find a way to raise pool up to that level. We can do it.

Man I wish. The thing is that BBC chose snooker and got behind it in a way that no network has ever done for pool. To the point where literally snooker was more popular than soccer and seen as a legitimate sport. It's players were then and are now legitimate stars with all the start treatment that comes with it. Their actions make front page news.

There IS however quite a lot that pool promoters could learn from this documentary. Mostly how a manager and promoter should act. Notice that Barry Hearn working in the capacity of MANAGER worked hard to promote his players and most notably Steve Davis.

And later when Barry Hearn became an event promoter he put all those contacts and skills to work for the game as a whole.
