When The Balls Dont Rack Tight?

For starters, I don't know that a spot ever helped the problem. Outline your spot with a pen and just peel the damn thing off.
Now we're talking. That sticky paper thing never helped anyone, and is among the most ridiculously useless inventions of man. I just don't get why room owners think it so appealing. When nobody is looking and I can't get a good rack, I'll often rip it off on the sly.

The spot keeps a hole from developing on the cloth from those who hammer on the head ball so much and so stupidly and so innaccurately.

When I see a guy pound on the head ball on brand new cloth, I feel like hammering on his head. And then there are those who do it with finesse, on several balls, like they're almost dancing. Of course they never have the rack straight so the dimples are wrong for the life of the cloth. They look like they're playing a xylophone or something...ridiculous. bang boing bang bang ta dah!...now the Cruise cue spin..whirl whirl whirl whoosh whoosh whoosh (giggle giggle)

Buy a Sardo. LOL

Otherwise I play with it for a while and try to get it as best as I can.

If you tap the ball it sinks it lower into the table. If it is the head ball the cueball will jump off the table because it is hitting the ball over the center. This is a trick that people in the know will use to make you lose your break. Others may do it thinking that it is for a tigher rack but the reason is to get the ball to jump off the table. That is why the cueball always seems to jump off the table in a bar. The table has a hole in the cloth at the apex of the rack. A way to get around this is to shoot at the second ball as in the 8 ball break. The probelm with this is if you are playing 9 ball.
