Donny what made you decide to shoot instead of playing the safe? What was your thought process there?

But for a couple of rolls like that cueball in the side you easily could have won the tournament. I enjoyed watching your matches with Ralf and Mika.

The 8 was an absolute hanger for me at that point in time. Playing safe never even crossed my mind and I would never play safe there, and I bet I couldn't scratch in the side like that again if I tried.

Play safe on that 8... lmao! Ya right play safe. So he could kick at it and leave me a tougher shot?

Anyone who feels you are supposed to play safe on that shot against mika needs a head examination.
 
Congratulations of your great play at the US Open. It's a shame you got a couple bad rolls, but . . .

I was wondering about why you are not in the voting for the last seat on the US Mosconi Cup team. I'd heard that you said you would fly if you were selected. Is that correct? What's the real story?

I went to the Open and brought 3 guys with me who are not big fans of pool in general, just occasional bangers. All 3 were so motivated by your great play, combined with the fact you hold a job too, that they are now following your progress. They are going to watch the SVB stream and have been watching pool sites.
In short, you earned 3 new fans (for both you and the sport) with your great performance.
I have seen you play before, but was impressed with how your game has improved. You need to get over the flying bit or invest in a cruiseline so you take the world by storm! Nothing says Champ like going to play the Pinoys on their home turf. Great learning experience that would elevate your game even further.

I can't wait to see your match with SVB. It is a shame you won't fly though, as you would have been a great addition to the Mosconi Cup team. Fear of flying is overrated. I fly A LOT for work and I hate it, but it beats driving. I have been able to play a lot of great golf courses because flying will get me to places you just can't drive to.

As for the Open, your match with Appleton was awesome as was the one with Boyes. Talk about steam rolling. Great job. Keep it up and you will win this sucker sooner rather than later.
