Where are Predator cues made, and does Lucasi cues compare in quality?

I am curious where Predator cues are built?

Are they made here in the USA?

I think I remember reading that the 1st generation Predator cues were made in Florida, but did they move their production factory to Asia after they changed ownership?

Heard that they changed ownership at one time, but I do not know when that was, and if the new owner moved the company to Asia.

I thought that I remember a poster saying that they are made in Asia, but I do not know any facts.

If they are in fact made in Asia, then would a cue company like Lucasi (for example) be making just as good of a quality of cue as they are?

I see that Lucasi cues are really high end these days, but were the older Lucasi cues not made just as well as the high end Lucasi cues that are being made these days?

Sorry for the mixed questions, and sorry if any of the info that I think I read about in the past is not true.

Thanks

china. the first predators were made by falcon in Canada. I was told that several different name cues are made in the same factory in china. Don't know the real quality of these cues. I know when falcon made them they were a quality cue without the unil loc joint. a real cuemaker would have to disassemble one to really tell the quality and then who knows the quality and age of the woods used.

ive heard that lucasi and predator are made at the exact same factory overseas.

Yeah, I was thinking that might be possible, because I had a high end Universal cue (that retailed for around $1,000) that came with the Universal Smart Shaft, and I read that the Universal cues were made at the same factory that made Lucasi cues, and that was a super nice Universal cue with a really nice LD shaft. This was the cue that I owned at one time, and I read that they were made in the Lucasi factory (or the same factory that makes Lucasi cues).

Butts from all over

I had heard when predator first offered cues instead of just shafts that they would get butts from Falcon , Joss , and just about anyone else they could get them from , so really you didn't know what you had as far the butt was concerned . Any truth to this ?

Made in China.

Get you a tiger cue made in the USA.

I had a small tour of Tigers production location this past weekend. I come from a Quality Control background. These guys ooze QC. Top flight operation. Infact, I ordered a new Tiger LD shaft yesterday based on my visit and how high they are on their own product.

I'm quite impressed with the quality of my Ultra X LD shaft.

I've never been impressed with Predators QC or materials. Their sister company Poison is the same. My Poison jump cue is quality built, but feels as cheap as a players cue.

Made in the USA

I am with Jumpin Joe and like the Tiger products but OB also makes everything "proudly" in the USA.

Tiger - in FAQ's
Where is your factory located?

Tiger's Products, Inc. is located in beautiful Burbank, CA USA where all items are manufactured.

Nothing on OB's sight but I know they are manufactured in Plano Texas, just outside of Dallas.

OB is in Dallas, Tx
Predator and Poison are from the same Factory
Lucasi is also from China but different factory
Tiger is pure USA
Joss is in Mass.
Players and Lucasi are from the same factory
Presidential Billiards Cues is from China, but they present themselves so called USA made.. not true. They have Warehouses in Tx, as a fact one is in New Caney, i live there.

no more cues for me over seas! usa only custom or production! same as cases. we really need keep money here! country is in bad shape and worse is yet to come!

I personally don't care where things are made. I buy what I like if the price is right. Good luck buying things made only in the US anyway. There isn't much out there that isn't made in China. On another note I've been playing with Lucasi cues for years and like them very much. I like the Players cue I have too. They all play the same anyway. A butt is a butt no matter who makes it. You're only paying extra for the exotic woods or inlays.

Buying only USA made is hard, if you stuck to it, no clothes, shoes, computers etc. not have a computer to get on AZ. :-) it's a new world.

A little off the post but a few years ago I bought a Sony Flat screen. Got it home and was assembling it and read the box and it was made in Mexico.
I expected to see China. It didn't bother me but i was surprised.
