Where are they moving the Derby to?

The Executive Inn has accepted my reservations for Jan. They are certainly not planning on closing for this years Derby City.

You make an interesting point...however, DCC plans for 2009 may or may not be effected due to the renovation. The hotel renovation is supposedly going to be completed by Dec. 15th 2008, squeaking in just in time for the 2009 DCC. However, we all know how construction time frames are. Living here in Lousiville, I have heard rumors about the hotel, however, they are just rumors.
What I do know as facts are this:
1. Completion is to take place over the next 15th months
2. Current ownership is staying as owners but are rebranding the hotel as a Crowne Plaza Hotel.
3. Renovations are expected to cost 20-28 million dollars.
What I have heard
1. They will be tearing down the executive inn...across the street.
2. They will be completing another convention center at the fairgrounds across the street.
