Where can I find APA mini tournaments?

Hey i have been wanting to play in tournaments on a smaller amateur level I hear talk about miniature tournaments set up by the APA where players compete against others in their skill level. For instance someone in my league mentioned something about an APA mini tournament coming up in Indianapolis i october. Does anyone know about these tournaments or where I can get more information on them?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by mini-tournaments, but my league operator sends a newsletter with our score sheet with the details of tournaments he runs on the weekend for his APA players.

Some of them are tournaments that will qualify you for Nationals, and others are just tournaments for cash/prizes, from what I've seen.

All of these tournaments are in his league territory. If what you mean is tournaments outside of your locale, I'm sorry, but I can't be of any help. :-(

yeah the guy that is the coach on my team just said its a tournament they are playing in october with the players only playing agains players in their skill level I really don't know what it is.

Sounds like a regional which are seeded by handicap. Place high enough and you go to Vegas to compete in nationals.

The real mini tournaments are in Vegas at the Nationals. Any APA player can compete. You don't have to win a qualifier. My wife's ladies team won a trip to Vegas a few years back and I ended up winning about $700 in the mini's. Their team finished high in the Nationals and they won less than that individually. :cool:
 
sounds like you are talking about top gun or other qualifiers for the regionals or nationals.
