Where is best pool room in Maryland area?

Yes, daily. Although Reggie was at Too Hat Saturday.

It would be great seeing Reggie and Bo. I hear Max hangs out at Top Hat, and he's always good for action, same with Henry, though Henry usually tries to get a huge spot, an impossible spot, but Henry is fun to play with. I like the kid.

Having been out of the pool scene for a while, I'm sure there's new kids on the block in Maryland.

A friend of ours goes to Triple Nines and likes it. It would be nice to run into Bobby Hawk.

I wonder if Sonny still owns a room up on Pulaski Highway in Baltimore. I know he closed down one pool room, but he opened up a bar-like restaurant. If there's pool tables, that might be a good place to check out too.

Played Reggie for almost 5 hrs today didn't get my usual whooping end up 2 games down , he called me from top hat the other night to see if I knew this road player from Oklahoma I didn't he told me Max ended up playing
Top hat has the better action and the better tables 3 9s has better food and is more spectator friendly, see Jim there pretty often Bob Harris just started back playing he's there a lot lately , haven't seen Bobby in a while

Couple things of note if Kieth wants to hit a couple of local good open turneys ,,
The Black cat tour has a good one played mostly at bank shots on diamond 7s and Brews and cues is going one also same thing diamond 7s

Thanks for the heads-up. That is great info.

I heard Max ended up breaking even.

The Black Cat Tour may be just the ticket for us.

It is a bummer that there are no pool rooms nearby us anymore. It's hard to believe.

That is a negative.

He does own a bar with barboxes on Eastern Ave (right at Eastern Ave and I95) called The Glass Grill. I believe he still runs leagues out of there but I havent been in there yet. Keep meaning to get over there. He closed everything over on Pulaski. It's a GYM/MMA center now.

Quball (sp?) on Central Ave in DC

I have heard about this place over the years but have never been. A friend told me recently that it is a great spot for 1P, and it is a "real" pool room.

People normally refer to the place as "Central Avenue" but I think the name is Q-ball or Quball, not sure which.

That's all I know.

The Brews and Cues is monthly, next one is 14 January (Saturday). Very nice Diamond BBs, great tourney, thought the races are short. Big turnout, Shawn Wilkie and Brett Stotlemeyer among others. I think Steve Fleming and his wife run it for the owner, it's a tight ship. Owner told me he's in the planning phases of maybe knocking out a wall and bringing in a few or more 9 footers. He'd like to run the tourney more than once a month, too. I'm interested in something a little closer to DC, though...

Whetzel's in Manassas is trying to get a Calcutta/tourney off the ground, the owner is looking to start with a couple of money added-no entry fee tourneys to kick it off...the local Filipino connection has Ramon Mistica hanging around lately, and Chezka Centeno is supposedly going to spend most of January there...

Nice! Glad to see that place is still open. Love that room. Nothing but 1-hole.
