Where to go in Chicago?

Heading there with family for my son's Junior Nationals this summer.
Is Chris's Billiards the only real room to visit? It seems to be still open at least, would have loved to play in Bensingers and meet Fels, but too late for all that :(
 
Red shoes on 120th and Pulaski in Alsip. Great pool room and you can usually find any game you want.

I'll have to see how time goes for things, we will be there 2 days before his tournament starts to visit places (not just pool rooms LOL), and will have time here and there I'm sure.

Send me a PM with a # I can reach you at (same thing goes for anyone in the area that wants to say Hi) and I'll be in touch. Will be there from July 11 to 16th, staying in Shaumburg which is where the tournament will be alongside the BCA trade show.

I think Chris's is my main room to go see, although Red Shoes seems to be on the list also now.
 
FYI Schaumburg is a long way from Chris's and Red Shoes. Unless you just want to visit them to have visited them, there are closer places to play.

I work a few blocks away from the Schaumburg Center. So, hope to be at the trade show this year, there are a few local small places in Schaumburg is you just want to shoot versus seeing the "sites" of old pool rooms like Chris' or Red Shoes.
 
Are anyone of you Chicagoan"s going to have another AZB member gathering at one of Windy City's pool halls mentioned above in the near future????:idea2::idea2::idea2:

Sorry for late reply, no I have not been there. It looks like 45 min to 1 hr drive, correct? That is not that far off and I do want to visit it to have been there. I drive 45 minutes one way all the time to play, the weekly tournament we play in and his junior league is in a place 45 mins from my house.

That's 45 minutes if you leave Schaumburg at 11am, and return by 3pm. Otherwise, gonna be a LOT longer to Red Shoes. Of go on the weekend.

Pyramid is about 20 minutes from where you're staying, 16 GC, and some very good food around, including terrific pizza, just ask Mark Cantrell about the pizza they got ;)

Archer and Appleton were there last night.
 
Can't help with a hall in Chicago, but wanted to ask if there is a thread/sticky/sub forum for pool hall locations by state/city etc. that we can update and give/get a little info on?
