Bangalore (Bengaluru) specifically. My son will be there for about 18 days next month for work and he was wondering if there is any place to play there.
About a population of 12 million and sure there are some decent places (not too seedy) to play.
I told him to ask the concierge at his hotel.

Any suggestions from some who have visited?

Thanks in advance.

Your son may need a snooker cue, Philly
India has produced Snooker and English billiards players for a long time.
..some of their clubs are very nice.

Yes. He had done some research and he found snooker rooms. Looks like it may be snooker while there.

Haha. He might find a new addiction. He still has not gotten into playing 3C with me. I might have to learn snooker when he gets back.

Was going to say the same thing, a lot more likely to find snooker halls than pool halls.

Hm... are they actually called "snooker halls" anywhere? Does not sound right.

Company I work for has a large amount of Indian workers in IT (contacted out from Tata) and one of them did know a bit about pool, but said they mostly played snooker there.

Pretty sure they’re snooker clubs.
A friend of mine played in India...can’t remember which city...it was luxurious...
...the attendants even did his chalking.

You sure he wasn't in the "back room"?

The expat communities are one f the most likely places to find a pool table

The leela palace hotel has one of the nicest billiard rooms I've ever seen with a 12 foot snooker table. Absolutely incredible.

I doubt there will be any pool tables in Bangalore (there weren't any 10 years back). Snooker is more popular in India. However in Snooker hall there may be 1-2 smaller snooker tables (like Chinese pool tables) which are used for pool.

I used to go to "Snooker Room" in Kormangala area when I was there. If your Son is working for IT giant there are chances he may find snooker tables in office premises.

I just googled there seems to be place which has one American pool table :)

Snooker Point

Address: 1291, 23rd Cross Rd, Banashankari Stage II, Banashankari, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560070, India

but this place is far from city centre. It is worth calling them before heading out. Chances are that pool table might be gone :)

Thanks everyone for your replies.
I have passed them on to my son.
He tells me he has his team in Bangalore working on finding places to play.

Just might be snooker sessions for him while there.

Thanks again for the suggestions.
