Good luck with reviving a game that died out 60 yrs. ago!

PS..Everyone realized any game with pockets, was much more enjoyable to watch, or play!

Not dead in Europe , Asia, south America, much of the planet

Not dead where the players marvel at the skill and technique it takes to gather the balls, to put all 3 right where you intend

Double the rail shots, Plus 2, ticky shots
Umbrella shots

No it's only dead where there is no care for learning or need of skill, or where 8 on the break is a win and someones happy with a luck shot
Or tables that you insert quarters into

There are no lucky quick 5 minute carom games
There are only skillful displays of knowledge and experience , no need of break cues, jump cues and playing cues

Just gentlemen like comradery and enthusiasm for all comers

I don't want your wishes you only exist here to bring negativity, but thanks for trying,

Didn't mean to offend you..I did not say billiards was a bad game..I should have said its dead in the U.S., but it is fading fast in the rest of the world too!..(Chinese 8ball, Asian & Euro rotation games are definitely much more popular)..As for my 'negativity', I only responded with my opinion on the subject!..It may only appear negative to you!..Not my fault! :rolleye:

PS..The lack of tables should be a clue!

It's actually coming back here it may not get the publicity but if you knew anything about it, carom is soaring outside of the us

Sam sells 200 tables a yr in Korea, carom tables, the top level model at that
And Koreans makes their own top level MIN table as well

Kozoom membership for streaming 3c is high with members chatting live on matches from places I can even pronounce and better quality than any other stream I've witnessed in the states
No matter if it's in ho chi min city, hurghada Egypt, Columbia , or Belgium or even in New York at the carom cafe for the US's only world cup event

Im not here to debate which is more popular, that is obvious

Fresno and it needs to be at Blue Fin Billiards right next to its 10' Brunswick snooker table.

Alas, not too many 3 cushion fans out there which is too bad. It's the most challenging game.

It may not seem popular where it isn't available. Go to Chris's on Milwaukee Ave if you have the chance. I played carom there for years. They have six heated 5 X10 carom tables. There are times I was there and all were being rented at the same time. They have a loyal following of players that only play carom pool. Carom is extremely popular in Mexico as well, certainly more prevalent than pocket billiards. Just look at your boxes of Magic Chalk there is a yellow, white and red ball prominently on the top and on the bottom is a carom table with the layout for a shot. Carom may not be so popular in America but neither is pool in general. Which does not mean it is not popular elsewhere, South Korea also comes to mind, I believe Ga Young Kim's Dad owns a carom pool hall there. Personally I love carom pool, played at a high level it is amazing..

It is a beautiful game, but it sure as hell is hard to get proficient at that but I think that's why it's lost.

Pretty popular here in Houston, 40+ public tables, 15 or so rooms, one them has or had 13 Gabriel's
Several are carom rooms with no pocket tables in the place

Romines in Milwaukee has 2 or 3 Carom tables and at least 1 snooker table. They are a little more than an hour from me but I have been meaning to get down there because I always wanted to try carom and snooker tables. The carom tables are always in use when I have been at Romines, I frequently watched people playing when I was not at the table myself.

I think all pool halls will benefit with having 1 or 2 carom tables as all pool players can benefit on learning the natural angles and 3 cushion paths.

However its does make any business sense since most players prefer pocketing balls.

my local hall has 5 10' tables, all heated Bretons or Chevilottes

it's pretty awesome
