Which cuemakers worked for a top cuemaker?

You're correct in saying that Gus Szamboti never worked FOR George Balabushka.. Gus just sold George half of his cues, ready made...lol

Why is that something to lol at? Why is it that Gus and other cue makers asked George all the questions about making great hitting cues, and not the other way around?

If you think a short spliced forearm is ready made, go make a cue? Gus learned to make great points on his own, but to think Gus handed George ready made cues shows your ignorance of the subject. And to pool players (which is who George preferred to cater to), it was all about the end result, not how it got there. And George was the best at the end result, solidly proven by history.

Back then, there were not little internet know it all's that went on forums asking who made a splice for who. People wanted a great hitting cue, that was it. George seen no fault in the blanks offered him as they progressed. He was able to turn over more cues for a larger number of the long list waiting, so why would he not use them if they met his needs? I would not make my own either.

George Balabushka never made a whole cue in his lifetime..
How do you know this? Did you hang around his shop 24/7? Not likely, George was a pretty private man. Ever seen the Golden Balabushka? Do you think someone else made that cue for George?
