Thanks For Remembering My Cortland Search

Tom......you're probably not aware of the updated status of my search for Cortland Linen #12. I updated all of my recent, prior threads which you haven't seen.

After 18 months of searching in vain, and enduring ridicule & scorn from some Azers, as well the offer of help from a far greater number of Azers than those that mocked me.......I finally was able to procure 50 yards of gorgeous condition Cortland Linen #12 (White with Black Speck). Jerry R. told me the stuff looks great because I had it sent directly to him.

The sole reason I was successful....and time was running out since Jerry said my cue will be done by end of March......was due to the invaluable help of JazznPool.......Thanks again Martin. A funny thing is a couple of weeks ago, I bought 50 yards of Cortland Linen #10 (white with brown specks) that seems even more rare than #12 version. I haven't seen any Cortland white w/ brown specks in what must be decades and so I jumped on it as soon as I spotted it on eBay and it's the real deal........perfect condition. So I am no longer in need of Cortland Linen #12 but as a consequence of my search process, I wound up also getting 50 yards of Cortland Linen #10 and am thrilled to own some just in case I ever do a new cue design that uses brown wood.

Tom, thanks for remembering my search for the Cortland Linen #12 and it just shows persistence really does pay off......especially when accompanied by the good deed of a fellow Azer. Meanwhile, after my Bushka Tribute cue is finished, I'll get some photos posted in the Cue Gallery. Jerry has made several Bushka cues recently and every one has been as good as any other cue-maker's Bushka version cues. I'm absolutely confident mine will be fantastic due to Jerry Rauenzahn's ideas & suggestions as much as because of the Cortland #12 wrap since the points & butt sleeve are ebony and riddled with ivory inlays. IMO....the White with black speck #12 is the crème de la crème wrap for my cue's design.

Matt B.

p.s Thanks again to JazznPool.

Agree about Tibbits, and high end Searings.

Here are a couple more: Chudy, Hercek, Hunter, Kikel, Martin, McWorter, Parrot, Wayne. Haven't seen many Jensens recently.

And I have NEVER seen a Jack Justis wrapped cue. Think he only did 2 fancy wraps?

Also, the X-Jumper. Those are as rare as hens teeth. Mine sold in a few minutes when I posted one for sale a few years back.
