Next week I'm going to vegas for the third time for apa events and it's fun and everything but I've heard from a bunch of people that the apa national event is nothing compared to other events like bca championships and the super billiards expo in valley forge. I've decided next year I'm gonna try and goto A new event and play. I need help deciding which is the best one to goto though........

I have been wondering the same thing. This is my second trip to singles nationals and I wondered how the BCA events compare?
Are there handicap or tournament groupings at BCA?
I am playing as a borderline 6-7 right now in 8 ball. Just wonder if its worth getting involved in BCA or if I should ride this one more year?

No handicaps is one of the main differences between BCAPL and all other sanctioning bodies. This years men's open singles will probably have over 2000 players! For those league players with proven skill levels beyond what BCAPL considers "Open", they offer "Masters" and Grand Masters" divisions. To keep unknown, non league players out of the "open", BCAPL created the "Players" division. Those are the only "handicaps" available. Everyone plays to the same number of games in each division.
If you want to be a better player, you must play better players. Otherwise your ability and knowledge will only equal your competition. I believe that is why people say once you reach a certain APA skill level you need to play BCAPL. Much tougher!
