This question came up during league night. I have played in the Falcon League back in 1988-1989. Then I stopped playing leagues for many years. I know the VNEA bought out Falcon since then. My question is, which of the current leagues have been around the longest? I'm talking about BCA, VNEA, APA. Those are the main league systems. Which one is oldest? What years did they come into existence?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Though I am not 100% sure. I think the BCA has been around sice the late 1940's

I guess I could have just googled it lol. dr was right, the BCA has been around since the 40's and the VNEA and APA started about 1979. Ok, another question. What was the first year the BCA was held in Vegas? I know it is currently at the Riv each year, where was it before that?

The BCA was formed in the late 40s (1947 or so) to run qualifiers for the 14.1 US championships.

IIRC, the BCA league system was started in either the very late 80s or early 90s.

APA and VNEA are pretty close to the same time frame, circa late 70s early 80s, at least IIRC, I played in the Bush APA league in 1982 or 83. The early APA yearly championships were held in Saint Louis.

This was the 33rd annual National Championships in Las Vegas so if my math hasn't failed me, I would venture to say the first BCA Las Vegas event was 1977. Somebody stop me!
