Which Predator?

I'm thinking of buying either a Blak, Ikon, Quiet Roller, P2 or P3, and I'm not ruling out a SP by any means.

Now, in practical terms, is there going to be ANY noticeable difference in hit between them, assuming 314-2 and same tip?

I know Blak and Ikon use C4 technology, so does this mean they are essentially the same cue?

Am I right in thinking the P2 & P3 are essentially the same cue? And, in turn, are they essentially the same as the 4k or 5k series? Are they all just dressed up SPs?

The Quiet Rollers are obviously different because they have radial pins, not unilocks. Any views on how they hit? I tend to like cues with big pins.

I don't have access to any of these cues, so would appreciate some feedback on how these cues compare in terms of performance.

I have a quiet roller with a 314-2 and z2 and now mostly play with the z2. It hits great; don't know about the other predator cues though.

Predator is coming out with a new line of Quite Rollers. Hang tight. I seen them at the BCA's. They look nice.

I own a Quiet Roller 2. The 2 hits better than the 1 in my opinion. The radial pin makes the hit so sweet...

IMHO predator quite roller, or a sneaky is the way to go. Played with a ikon for a bit and did not care for it much. To me the QR has a soft hit and the sp is slightly harder.

Ikon 1 for sales

Hi, i have a ikon 1 to sell. uni lock shaft 30" with kamui black tip. total length 59". 2 mth old. very new. interested pls pm me. Thank you.

New Predator shaft in the workings

I spoke with a rep. from Predator today, he said this summer many new cues are set to release, he also mentioned a new shaft thats in the workings..

The shaft however he wouldnt elaborate on, and stated it will take about 2 years before itll be available for purchase..

The wait sux, but the thought of yet another Predator shaft is appealing to someone such as myself, who loves most of there products...:wink:

I play with the Willie Hoppe -Predator. I think it has the best hit of all the Predators I've tried. Btw I use the OB-1 shaft with a Kamui soft a.k.a the nuts.

I've owned one of the old 5K series, and a Blak 4. Additionally, have played with an Ikon and one of their SPs. I would definitely choose a sneaky with the radial pin.
But, do yourself a favor and get an Olney instead. Very reasonably priced and one of the best hitting cues I've ever encountered. Contact "Daniel" on here and he'll treat you right.

They don't do SPs with a radial pin. I saw one for sale on here the other day, but they're not common.

I thought the radial pin of the QR would give it a harder, rather than softer, hit?

I believe Predator's Willie Hoppe tribute cue was actually built by Pechauer, via Predator's then-contract with Pechauer to build their Limited and Special Edition cues.

So, as an interesting side note, by switching out the Predator shaft for an OB, you now have a 100% American-made cue. :)

P.S.: Recently, for whatever reason, Predator switched to Mezz to make their Limited and Special Edition cues.
