Which shaft sealer?

I've been cleaning shafts on a wood lathe for years, but am looking for suggestions about 1) sealing the wood and 2) keeping it slick.

I'd like to seal the pores to make it easier to keep clean, and I'd like to have it slick as glass when it comes off the machine.

I'm overwhelmed with all the products out there from: Brianna products, Unique, Hightower, Cue components, etc.

I'm in Florida, so humidity is an issue.

Any help and suggestions by post or PM would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for your time. :)

Thanks for the replies: I've been reading the archived discussions, but was wondering what guys were using (those what would give it up)!
It seems the shellac would have problems in a hot/humid area like FL?

I have my own formula, but recently tried BRIANNA's sealer & it is the best I've tried...JER

Thanks, JER. I read your previous post on the topic that you'd been using your own mixture for 20 years!
I appreciate the input.

Just used Brianna's shaft sealer the first time at SBE. It's great. I used less of it than what I was using before and liked the finish better.
