Which Tip?

This is not one of those "Which is better?" posts..

I currently play on a Everest by Tiger tip and I like it but it is a tad to hard for me at times.

My question is has everyone experienced that Medium grade tips throughout manufactures tend to be the same. If not, are Moori and Kamui Med. slightly harder or softer than an Everest?

I suppose trying something like a Kamui Soft is an option, I've played on a SS and that s wayy to soft for my liking.

I'm just trying to narrow down my options for when I go to try a new tip, not looking for the "Answer" through this forum.

Kamui brown soft is what I'm using. Helps cover my poor stroke. No mushrooming. Holds chalk very well. With this info an $4.00 you can get a cup of coffee at Star Bucks.

If you want to stay with Tiger, try a Sniper. I have played both Everest and Sniper and found that the Everest hit a little too hard for me. Since I have switched to the Sniper, I have noticed a much better feel.

But as usual, this is my experience, yours may vary.

Having shot with Everest Mediums, Moori Mediums, and Kamui Mediums I can say, and this is just my personal opinion, that they play differently.

Everest Mediums seem to me to be the least forgiving when it comes to stroke. Moori's and Kamui's play similarly but the Kamui I've found lasts much longer and mine has yet to mushroom. They hold chalk very well and feel phenomenal.
Like some others said, if you want to stay with Tiger, try switching to a Sniper tip, they play well. But you won't be disappointed with a Kamui Black Medium tip either :)

I would recommend the sniper tip as well.
This in the tiger product line. It will have a similar feeling like the Everest, just a little softer.
My personal preference is Kamui medium (tan). You can try the black but know the Kamui Black medium will tend to feel a little harder.
If going black try the soft first. If too soft cut a few layers off and it will stiffen up. Try one layer at a time until it feels they way you want to.

And that is my .02

Thanx, I hadn't considered cutting layers off of a tip.

i'm a big fan of triangles and talisman hards. there're a couple of generic layered tips out there that can give moori's and kamui's the 7 out

I switched from Everest to Kamui Black Soft. Never looking back. Like you said, the Everest was a tad too hard for my liking. I also miscued a lot more than I do now (something about all the Tiger tips make me miscue more than normal...). The Kamui's play firmer than most, so a "Soft" is really about medium hardness. I love it and can't ask for more from a tip. It takes a bit more maintenance than some of the other tips I've tried (I reshape it about once a month or so, and scuff it once a week at least), but I've never had it mushroom on me. I'm also pretty anal about my tip though, I want that thing perfect all the time.
