What would the best white ferrule material be for a break cue. The reason I ask is some people dont like the brown or black phenolic and would prefer a more traditonal look. Any help would be great.
The only option is Ivorine 4. All others are subject to cracking. Don't use the premade ferrules either. Buy the solid ferrule rod...leave 1/2 the ferrule solid and just dome the end...you can cut grooves like I do to help hold chalk too. Ivorine 4 is the strongest ferrule material ever made. It'll flatten hacksaw teeth in seconds. You'll need carbide to cut it.
Just a word of caution, but if using LBM, then You might want to cap It cause that stuff will crack & split on an open end ferrule. Have personally seen this, and just putting a ferrule on a slightly tight tenon can be enough to split a open end ferrule.. Greg
