This is great news and you can count on me being there. I will say it again this is a great tournament with great people who put it on. There will be plenty of money in the building and if you do not think Louisiana has any gamble just stay where you live and hear about it from your friends. This is a great pool hall with great food, staff, and always plenty of action. Someone might want to kidnapp Chip so someone else has a chance! LOL

You got it. Sorry did not see this earlier to respond can't beleive someone let this tournament get to the third page. I will not let that happen again. Wake up call people come sign up to this great event. Hell seeing Chris in action is worth $40 lol.

I think 9-12.

Is this posted on anything pertaining to this event? Seeing how 99% of tourneys pay 1/4 of field, that might be something people may like to know if they are travel 1000+ miles to attend.
Also seeing how i don't see greens fee i would have to assume that you have to plug the tables also. That's a butt load of quarters, with that said i would think that they should be able add $2000.00 instead of $1000.00 and pay out a little deeper in the field.
So the calcutta must only pay 5th 6th?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
This is probably the best $1000 added tournament in the country. By far the best auction and the greatest hosts in the world.
If you're getting a full field every event, why change?

Best auction yes.
Best $1000 ADDED tourney no.
Greatest host in the world. Wow that's pretty strong to say.
No change is needed obviously because they always have a great field.
My point is that if you have never been there all sounds good till you get there and find out they only pay 12 places out of 128.
How many tourneys pay less than 10% of the field?
All good if you have a good chance to win.
But unfortunately there are probably 16 - 20 that have a chance to win that event out of the 128.
Also as a room owner running there own event IMO should have a greens fee instead of having to pump in $60+ in quarters to fall 13th 1 out of the money.

It is a race to 7 alternating breaks on a bar table. If u break over 5 mph u have a chance to win...I think the tournament alone pays close to 2000 for first..Do u have somewhere u can get those odds on your money?

I did not know pool was a profitable sport. Guess I am wrong and people actually can make money at this game. LOL

LMAO You cant be serious.
I may have even overstated the amount of people that can when that event.
Omg that statement you made is one of the most ridiculous i have ever heard.
You can't really believe that.
All im saying here is that i think the payouts should be listed so people that have not been there before would know before traveling so far, seeing how 99% of the tournys pay 25% of the field.
And yes i do have tourneys that payout similar odds on my money. Check out the Carom room Tourneys listed here in this forum.
They list the payout structure for there events so peps Know before showing up.
Plus they don't stick you with plugging the table $1 a game.
By they way just 1 hour down the road not 1100 miles.

I agree the tourney payout places should be posted..But u keep sayin they stick you with payin the quarters..They dont stick you with the quarters cause you dont sound like you want to attend due to the payout structure..ha ha but they dont have any complaints about the tournament other than sometimes it runs a little late..But hey this is life.Nothing is perfect..And I do believe with this format that the tourney could be won by anybody..A few rolls and your in.It happens..Good day sir...

This is copied from the Winter 2010 tournament. I've been to SEVERAL tournaments throughout the states and can say this is top of the bar box tournaments! Between the payouts, hosts, the room and how the tournament is run, it's great! And I'm sorry, but if your complaining about $60 in quarters than you shouldn't be traveling to play in ANY tournament IMO. This thread is not made for people making suggestions on how they run the tournament. It's been this way for years and gone by without a hitch! Chris Miller(the owner) takes care of the players, but it's still a business and businesses have to make money to stay open. I won't say it's anyones game, but the chances are very very good for players like me to place. It's on Valleys with 860 and factory rails. I've come in the top 32 a few times and I can barely run one rack in a day.

The copy:

Seriously, i'm really not complaining about the quarters (it was just an added thought) it's the payout i have a problem with and i think i am untitled to my opinion about that.
I can see why they have huge fields with the mind set of players like yourself that are happy taken 32nd a couple times in a tourney that pays 12 places. Would have been nice to get a little jelly for your finish like most events right? That's all i'm saying. I don't mind donating if i have a chance for a little something. And the way it looks theres more than enough to go around.

These guys are all champion players and all have a chance to win. Why would they complain.
All i'm saying is what about the players that feed that event, they know they have no chance to win but they still come. I feel if they do rather well for there ability they should be rewarded.
How well did the last event go? Was there even 64 players? The pond of fish might be drying up....jmho
