I have used White Diamond tips on almost every break and j/b cue made including Sledgehammers and all versions of X-Breakers. In my opinion, the White Diamond tip was an improvement on the X-Breaker tips (all versions) and enhanced the effectiveness of the one piece phenolic ferrule/tips on my Sledgehammer and Mike G breakers and others with the same one piece phenolic. Of course my testing has no science behind it other than my own experience and opinion of how balls reacted when using the WD tip.
The White Diamonds seem to hold more chalk imo which is helpful on a break or j/b shaft. Again, this is simply my opinion :boring2: .
I spoke with Joe Picone the other day to ask why the newest order of White Diamonds were more tan than white. Joe explained he had reduced the amount of white pigment in the newer tips to reduce the amount of chalky residue that seemed to cause the lesser experienced tip installers difficulty in getting the tip to stay glued to the ferrule. Other than the slightly darker color, he assured me they are the same now as the older bright white tips. The newer tan White Diamonds provide the same effectiveness for me as the older whiter ones.
