I have a weak break due to my lower back problems making me hold back a little on my break stroke so any advantage in breaking always interests me. I read on AZ about different players who liked White Diamond break tips and it got my interest up. I've been using a break shaft with a brown linen phenolic tip/ferrule on it and I was hitting the balls harder with it, but i'd lost some control on the cue ball unless I really hit them good. A friend that I play with asked me to install a White Diamond tip on his break cue for him and he tried it out the next week and let me try it also. I was impressed with it and I ordered a couple of the tips for myself.
I've installed a White Diamond tip on my break cue and I like it. I seem to hit the break shot about as hard as I did with the phenolic tip/ferrule, but I can control the cue ball a little better.
This works for me and I thought i'd pass it along to anyone who might be interested. I don't care for the way the tip looks on my cue (I should color the edge black with a marker), but it works well for breaking.
