years ago, i bought some material that was labeled white phenolic. listed right next to the black and brown. I guess it's called these other materials now? I know not Juma, I have some of that. I just loved the look of the phenolic. idk, just do :)

Are they off white?
I have some from Atlas. But, they are really not phenolic. These are old.
I inquired about getting white phenolic made, they are very expensive.
And no guarantees how they would turn out.
So, I just ordered more double black.
Should be here in late July.

Chris , are you saying phenolic and melamine are one nd the same

Not to speak for Chris, but phenolic is just a class of plastics based on using a resin with filler. So, yes melamine phenolic is a type of phenolic, as is g10, and a whole slew of other materials.

And glass melamine is actually G-9.
But, in simpler terms , when we talk Phenolic, we're usually referring to LE phenolic.

I miss the old melamine with visible linen weave.

*Usually* means that the continued confusion is real and will continue.

Bakelite is also a phenolic... The great-grandaddy, in fact.

Yes, bakelite is also phenolic ..and for all intents and purposes, micarta.
Too bad their quality went haywire.

I am no chemist, but when people say white Phenolic I just assume they mean Melamine.
But I can re-ask the question. Do you think Juma is stronger than either Linen Phenolic or Linen Melamine?
My experience suggests that Phenolic is a little stronger than Melamine and Melamine is a little stronger than Juma.
But that is just my opinion from working with all three.

Juma is soft. You can bend it with your hands if you have a rod of it. Doesn't seem ideal for much, in my opinion.
