I‘m thinking about buying one this year at the expo but with the way the prices of gone up I may just be better off getting one new. I believe I remember a friend buying one there maybe 10 years a go for $3500 and that came with a ball and light. Lol that price has sky rocketed.

So the question is if you bought one there what year did you buy it and how much?

The advantage would be you will have it soon. See how long a new one will take and go from there.

A new 9ft Diamond is $8,500 at Seyberts with a 4 to 6 month backorder.
Is there anything special about the tournament tables that make them better?

Call Aaron at Diamond
They have about 7 seven footer....think they are $6,700, no lights there to buy.
They had all 16 nine footers. For sale....like 8500, plus light.

I'll take a 9' anniversary modded by SBC over a diamond any day 👍

I don't understand the logic? Yes prices went up, but the tournament table will still be at a slight discount over new.

When I was looking seriously at buying a Diamond 10 or so years ago, the tournament tables were a $500 discount from the factory new tables. I think it was $5000 tourney, $5500 new. (from memory). Not much difference.

Brand new cloth .. no marks or dings from being moved around. If it is no longer that big of a savings at this point you might well get one new. What’s $500 when you’re spending 5 grand on a pool table.

Yes agree for 500 might as well get new. From my recollection though the savings was that slight 10 years ago. Unless maybe there was "friend pricing", where some people got 1000 or more off, ha ha.

Also I've read on this forum before of customers ordering brand new, and receiving tournament used...

*Edit, I might be remembering wrong. Maybe it was a tournament special, where if you ordered a new table "at the tournament" you'd receive a 500 discount. I do remember vividly it was a photocopy flier at some event I was at.

Discount is only 800 or so now.
The 9 foot retails 9500.

If you order one, the biggest issue, beyond the 5 month wait , is delivery. So if the tournament you are at is closer for delivery, then buy tournament used.

These tables don't age....even in commercial settings. At most you need new pockets to make them look new....or stain and shoe polish them, they are leather.
