Wow, he just proved it again in today's Day 1 Mosconi Cup action. Great great safeties, including return safeties from safeties. And that very long combo on the 9? Who saw that coming?
 
Harsh really? Which one of the 10 on the Mosconi cup couldn't give Karen the 7 on a long set? Now add the 50 others that did not get invited on either team. Now add 100 Asian players. 50 others creeds and colors and 5 Women pro's. Top 5. I like Karen but she wouldn't make the top 200 men. This is not a men-women thing.

Why don't we add Joan Rivers to Peoples 50 Sexiest People list?

Any top ranked player can beat each other on any given day. But the most rock solid top 5 RIGHT NOW are:

1.Yang
2.Bustamante
3.Souquet
4.Lee Van
5.Shane
 
Orcollo just lost handily to Bartrum at the DCC Fatboy event.

Perhaps Bartrum is moving into the World Top 5? :P

I think Mika Immonen is on top these days. The other 4 guys are Souquet, SvB, Bustamante and the Straight Pool Champion Ortmann !!!

That's because there are just too many good players out there now a days. If you make a top 15 thread, I'm sure Archer would have a few mentions.
 
@Klink: Wow, three pages and no mention of Oliver Ortmann at all. He is the actual 14/1 World Champion - who else deserves to be in the list of the top 5 players, if not the 14/1 WC, no matter if its Ortmann, or anywhere else, the guy who owns this title is always one of the best in the world, no matter what game, i think the 14/1 Champ can always win any tournament in the world.

And dont get me wrong, but Archer is far away from being one of the top players in the world nowadays. He had his time and it was surely a great time, but its over now i think. Remember that Double Match with Corey Deuel (or was it SvB ? Dunno exactly) in last Mosconi Cup ? Just check out youtube, he missed some easy shots badly - Archers time is over.

I'm just not enamored with Dennis O. prob becuz his performance lately seems lack-luster. SVB is a monster in 10 ball, but just in my top 15 for the 9-ball game. I would prefer the question be 10-ball actually.

Spotted a couple flaws in your top 5 list...
There are '6' players on that list...
..and the Lion is not one of them

Alex Pagulayan is back
 
I think in a few years you will see Mike Dechaine on this list. He hasn't been around long enough for people to consider but he is up and coming fast and he is young maybe 23 now.
