With their regular playing cue as good as w a jump cue?

Got a little personal bet w someone on this, so honesty is appreciated. I'm limited but...

Would you feel you could present ur best game w one cue?

No, not even in the game. Give me my Predator Air, and I'll jump out of most trouble spots. Very accurate, and useful tool.

As of yesterday, I own my first jump/break cue. I've always jumped with my playing cue. I don't really intend to use the jump part very often, though I may well grab the full break cue for a jump simply because the Samsara tip jumps so well. I don't jump much, anyhow. I'll kick at a ball the vast majority of the time. What I consider to be practical jumps are when you just need to clear the edge of a ball, and then even the worst jumping cue in the world can easily get the cue ball a 1/4" in the air to clear an edge.

But if the question is can I do my absolute best jumping without it, from what I saw yesterday with just a couple of hours under my belt, no way. That said, I think that's 95% the tip, so as long as I could switch to my break cue I think I'd be fine.

I don't think anyone who is proficient with a jump cue is "as good" with their regular cue. Full cue may be better for long jumps, but will never be as good as a jump cue on close shots.

A putter and driver are clubs but they perform differently in the right hands on the golf course. Same for a jump and a pool cue in the pool hall.

I can jump at various distances with my jump cue... I can jump with my playing cue at less varying distances but my accuracy is better.

I have been practicing jumping with a full length cue, and like most have said here can jump a ball 12 inches and out, but anything closer than that and have to get the shorty out.

I tried practicing jumping with a full cue, gave up and went back to kicking.

One thing I did notice jumping with a full cue, than a jump cue is I was able to make stop shots more often than not.
