Who do you let play with your cue?

I would be willing to bet they have a 51% sign in that poolhall, don't know many poolhall that serve drinks the their income from the drinks is way more than the pool. Could also be a sports arena if you wanted to split hairs.and you would be illegal.

Can't play pool in prison... Ahem, that means you Bavafongoul.

Speaking of pranks though, I've thought of breaking a warped or split junk shaft and in a pool room just to mess with people.

Boy, then you were taught wrong little..........really wrong.....Remember what Col. Colt said.....Do a Google search.
I much rather have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it.....Duh?
And surprise....I am also very much in favor of more stringent gun laws.

Have you been paying attention to the soaring rate of public homicides the past 2 years......and I do not mean police shootings.......Hey, who's to say where and
when a weapon is required and I hope I never need to defend myself but I have zero quibbles about using my weapon for that purpose.... I can't adequately
physically defend myself due to extensive surgeries to both my shoulders but I can still steadily hold, fire and hit what I aim at. If and when I ever feel threatened
with grievous bodily harm....I am not going to trade blows with my adversary.......I will ask someone to stand down, warn them, maybe mace them if I remembered
to carry with me but sans that......someone had better get a couple of pennies ready.

By the way, it's not illegal to carry in establishments where alcohol is served as long as alcohol is not the primary business..........restaurants, pool halls, hotels, etc.
It's called primary business purpose and it's a pool hall with a liquor license.......it is not a bar with pool tables........and I never drink alcohol when I carry either......
this is becoming tiresome and I'll leave you alone before I embarrass you any further........Don't forget to have someone check your calcs........we sure don't want
an oops which certainly seems to be a trait you like to show off. A..I am too old to fight and am always armed at all times which includes playing pool.

p.s. What I wrote was...... "if someone was to actually hit me, well, let's put it this way......their loved ones will place pennies over their eyes."

Hmmm, couldn't actually find ANY Colt quotes. I did find the tired old Abe Lincoln freed men, but Colt made them equal...which was well after your childhood friend, Sam's death.

As for this soaring murder rate, I presume you mean in the US? The same murder rate that has steadily fallen from 23k in 1990 to 14k in 2013? Sorry I couldn't find stats on 2014.

The only cue I'd be hesitant to let someone use is my McDermott C-21. I rarely even use the cue! I have a few cues that I play with and a few others for guests. I went and bought real house cues (18, 19, 20 and 21 oz) so guests could use the weight that they were comfortable with. The only one I'm anal about it the C-21. Other than that, they're just pieces of wood as another guy stated. I don't get too particular about possessions. But I've never even seen another C-21 in person, so that one is off limits! Oh, I also only play at home, typically. When I do go out to shoot, I just bring one cue. Nobody has ever asked to try it. I'd let 'em though, if they asked.

Nobody uses my stuff. I let someone test drive a new OB classic for 10-15 minutes. Had a crater in it on return.

I once let a friend use my cue in a tournament and soon as I turned away, I heard a huge "Whack!" behind me. Apparently he got angry at a missed a shot and slammed the cue on the rail, leaving a big dent in the forearm... my fault for letting him use I guess, but boy was I pissed!

Despite that though, I don't really have any problem with people using my cues, as long as they stay in my sights and don't do anything stupid with it.

I used his cue.

I let people play with my cue if I know them usually. I used to be more protective with my guitar actually, but I don't mind if another musician wants to play it. Same thing with pool cues I suppose. I don't like it when my girlfriend wants to use my cue though. She doesn't know pool etiquette. That's what it really comes down to.

I let my buddy play with mine he other night....he is worth millions....after 5 min I didn't care if he could replace it or not....I went over and took it back....gave him a $50 Chinese Palmer...said have at it...That was my last rodeo with people using my player...never again

Don't leave us hangin, what did he do?

Never let anyone play with it but I'd would let almost anyone check the hit/feel for it on a shot or two if I deemed them low risk!

I will refrain from commenting although I am tempted. Very sensitive subject with me even though I carry no 'High End' lumber:groucho:

-Kat,

Absolutely no one. To quote an old commercial, "I'm sorry my brother, you must buy your own".

I'll let just about anyone shoot with my cues. If it's someone I don't know at all I'm sometimes a little apprehensive but as long as they seem respectful I'm fine with letting them take a few shots...Most of the time it's people with other nice cues that are willing to let me smack a couple with theirs. I've had friends that were on the fence about stepping up in cue and I let them shoot with whatever they wanted out of my case just to see if they liked the feel and hit in comparison to what they had at the time...Even loaned cues out to friends I knew for sure would respect my stuff and bring it back in the same condition they got it in.

I had a lot of people let me test hit their cues throughout the years...It for sure helped me figure out what I like in a cue! I like to pay that forward when I can...

I'll let anyone who asks try my cues out. I realized that cues are meant to be played with and dings and dents in my cues are going to happen. Most of the people who ask me are also avid pool players and know how to handle cues anyway.

Personally, I used to baby my cues and try and protect it from the rails or whatever when I was shooting. That really does have a negative impact on how you play. If you're so worried about dinging your cue, you're never going to really know what you can do. Ironically, once I got my first dent/ding in my cue I kind of stopped caring and then found out the truth about it. If you're worried about either you or someone else denting it, then you might be holding back your game.

Play it like you mean it.

I don't mind people using my cues. Most of the people in my pool hall that i know can handle a cue. The few people that I don't know that do ask, I refer them to the wallabushka's.

However, if I am able to witness a persons habits around a table, I might be inclined to let them use a cue. Repairs can get expensive and having to get the persons to contribute to the repair is an ordeal.

Not my kids!!! I would let an adult try it out but to give warning how anal I am about dents and stuff.
