Who does a good refinish?

Hey all - I've just picked up an older JR-5 Jimmy Rempe Meucci. This is my 4th one - I've bought and sold all the others during my college years and I want to keep this one and rotate it in as an alternate player. That being said....who do you recommend for a refinish? There are clearcoat chips and some dings in the wrap. I'm thinking maybe an exposed leather wrap to be different... we'll see I guess. I've seen that Proficient has Meucci experience - does anyone have contact info/names for them? I also will need another shaft or two - not sure of pin size? Anyway, thought you guys would know best! :) No way am I sending it to the modern day Meucci plant after reading the stories on here! Thanks in advance - John

John:

I myself am preparing an older Meucci for shipment to RatCues, who'd posted in the past that he's now the only authorized repair depot for Meucci:

He does the gamut of work to Meuccis, including rewrapping and complete refinishing with clearcoat.

Hope this helps!

Brent Hartman of BHQ did my Meucci Orginal. All i can say is he did one heck of a job, can share pics if you like. Its so pretty i dont play with it, bought me a BHQ Custom with a P/H shaft for my player.

Mike Erwin is the man when it comes to Meucci cues, he worked for them for a long time and I believe he was even shop foreman at one time. If your going to have a Meucci worked on (especially an original) it might be worth your while to give Mike a call.
