Johnny Archer has also run 15 racks as well.

I'm more impressed with Archer's 15 racks because
I believe it was in a big money match, Feijin did his
in an exhibition.

i agree with you poolguy24. its the same list of usual suspects that i've been expecting to be there. no offense to the yanks. but i think its the aian air or loom that creates a momentum for these players. the familiarity of the place the faces, the association with the caliber. let's face it the top players right now are in this hotbeds, philippines and taipei. although i'm not saying they can't play well unless its here in asia. damm they can play well even with their eyes closed. my point is, although its 9 ball which again i can't help to repeat myself that its a game where even the top player can be beaten by an unknown, the chances for these unknowns who are asians have the chance to be on top and these unknowns will have their spotlight to shine because of the comfort and familiarity of the place. a perfect example would be in any sport we call "home court advantage". but guys this is my personal opinion no offense meant and i can be wrong you know.

I don't think that a lot of people realize just how good Morris really is.

I second that...Most of the pros are great players, but there are only a handful that better than great, and I believe the Rocket is one of them.

Hey Craig. The Reno Open in the summer is one of the top affairs on the West Coast. Its very casual and a true open where besides the pros the top players on the West Coast play. It is held in the Casino so there is a lot to be distracted by. A lot of the players go to gamble in the Casino so you might not see that much late night action. But you will see great nine ball. Try to head down to Sacramento (2 hour drive) the week after Reno for the Hard Times Jamboree. They have a great 9 ball and one pocket tournament there with a lot of late nite action.

Does anyone know if they will be holding the WPC qualifiers in Asia shortly before the main comp starts? I email Doug but didn't get a reply? I only ask because I notice that there are two WPC qualifiers in the uk and I'm thinking he might be holding these instead of qualifiers before the main event in Asia.

I'm trying to book my flights and I have to say giving that its only a few months away the lack of info on the world championship webiste is ver dissapointing :-(

Also, anyone got anything good to say about the sands open in reno in June or the Joss finals - I'm hoping to visit these events if the WPC doesnt happen?

Cheers

Craig

Yeah, and then he won the flip in the next set and ran two more! :D :D :D
But Archer still lost the set to Bustamante :-) The story has been confirmed by both players.

Feijen did his run in a poolroom in Den Haag (Dijkje Duinzigt) against a local player Don DuBois. I believe they played race to 7 for small money and Niels finished 2 sets and one extra rack on his 15 racks strung together.

On the subject, I'd like to see Django or Yang take the title because at least they deserve it. Also, Immonen would be my absolute favourite for obvious reasons :D

It is my understanding that after Archer ran the 13
racks he started off the next set by breaking and
running 2 more racks for a total of 15.

Bobby

My mistake, guess that's how he won all those world championships :D Hey, he wouldn't be a bad bet to win the WPC at 12/1 odds.

Yobagua,

I'm not sure the Jamboree is happening at Hardtimes after the Reno tournament. I don't want to say it isn't without being sure but I thought I heard that they're not having it this June. I'll ask Tom in Cincy, he's a tournament director there, and let you know.

Change of Plans Yobagua....There will be a HARD TIMES JAMBOREE this year... but it will be May 25-30th.. The week before the June PRO Am at Reno.

See the tournament section for details.

I'd like to see Django win this time, in a rematch with Earl.

Or Alex, in a rematch with Thorsten.

Otherwise, I'd like to see Efren's winning streak this year continue....so he can retire in glory and pass the torch on to Django or Alex, or possibly, to Parica (as if that would happen). :)

What are you thinking?

I don't think there's anyone around quite strong enough to even hold that torch for a few weeks yet. Better count on Efren for at least another 10 to 15 years for that job. Sam

You're right, I guess. But he's not getting any younger.....
