Who is Billy Smith?

We know it isn't Bill Smith (AKA Mr3Cushion) because he has said more than once:

"First of all, my name is BILL Smith, try to remember that! Only my mother and father called me Billy!"

However I keep running across this other person named Billy Smith as I peruse the internet. In Mike Shamos' "The New Illustrated Encyclopedia of Billiards" he writes: "The top modern American players include Allen Gilbert,Carlos Hallon, Sang Lee, Eddie Robin. Billy Smith, and Frank Torres." Obviously that's not Bill Smith -- top player?

But the name keeps popping up on Onepocket.org, too. For example:

This is the info I have for you.
You chose to come out of the blue to malign me, I don't know you from Adam, and don't care to. But I will know you, and address this issue with you in person. Not by hiding behind a keyboard. The internet is a GREAT tool for everyone, even you, a weak individual like yourself who doesn't have the balls to make the same statements in person!

Maybe I should of said, ONLY my friends call me "Billy."

I think I'll play in Edgies tournament later this year, and we can have a discussion about who I really am.

There was a road player that came through the Burlington, IA area around 25 yrs ago or so and stayed around a while looking for action. He went by the name Billy Smith. Not sure if that was his name or a road name.
It's possible there is our Bill Smith(mr3cushion) and a different Billy Smith mentioned in books/conversations/road stories.
Not taking any sides, just that there was someone hustling and saying his name was Billy Smith many years ago.
 
Mark, let's say we don't expect to see your name in the "List of PRE-PAID customers for TCBOPP" anytime soon.
