Makes perfect sense-the ball is not sliding into the OB at all though as SB Russ says -it loses the slide a few inches before impact and is rolling at impact.

I tend to hit ‘about’ dead ball....and extend my follow-through...which keeps whitey dead
for a while.

I guess you are right, that there is some top spin...but it is not at the rpm ratio you would normally have with the cb at the speed. The cb is sliding fast and rolling slower.

For the 3 railer, the angle into the rail + the inside (running) english allow the cb to have sufficient speed to go 3 rails

That what me think.

You cant have players running around the room in the middle of a match looking for another cue from someone because it is more convenient for their purposes-ridiculous. Now if a tip flew off or something like that-it's a different story
