Who is expected to play in the 10 ball

I agree. I think it is somewhat nit picky of Shane to challenge that

You might look at it a little differently if you were up against a top 10 player, multiple world champion, were hill-hill, and the other player's cue was a jump cue.

Whoa -- Aranas is thumping SVB in an elimination match.

[But still time for a comeback.]

can we finally give "the hottest player on the planet" trophy to alex kazakis? about time....lol

Gotta love Dennis. He goes to borrow Alex's longer cue because he can't reach a shot easily enough and doesn't want to use the bridge. SVB says, "WTF?" The TD steps in and tells DO, "No dice."
Yeah, you should only be able to use your cues which you brought with you to the match. If you don't have an extender or jump cue or whatever, you can't go borrow someone elses when you need it. This is a rule we enforce in our weekly 9-ball tournament. I can't believe a pro player in a tournament mostly made up of pro players would even think he could get away with trying to do that. Good for the TD in enforcing that rule.

And Shaw -- out 4-11 vs. Filler.

So, tomorrow:

Pagulayan vs. Corteza, 11am
Grabe vs. Filler, 2pm
Orcullo vs. Souquet, 5pm
Kazakis vs. Aranas, 8pm

Four of the final eight are Filipinos. Surprise! Surprise!

That’s strange...pretty sure I saw a Canadian flag in there.
:)

The traffic is very dangerous in NYC....Alex just got hit by a Van....

Hasn't Alex considered himself a Canadian for quite a while now? Does anyone happen to know when he first located in Toronto / Canada? I'm guessing it's been around 20 years?

Golly!

I think Alex is a Canadian no matter what he looks like. Not a big surprise there are winning Pinoy shooters as it is a huge sport in there country. Much more popular then in the U.S. and many more play there then in any country I am aware of.

Pool is cheap to get into and does not require a bunch of athletic ability. Ain't like many of them are in the NBA or NFL, but they are good fighters!

I remember Jay saying he told Dennis to get and extension so he did not have to use the bridge so often. Hard to believe he does not have a couple of extensions of different lengths. I bet plenty of cue makers would make him a couple for free.

Maybe he could gain a couple of inches with some different shoes if that would help?

I say use the cues you brought to the fight, you are a pro for crap sakes and if any one pops a tip reach in the case and grab another shaft.

Players who have properly been taught how to use a bridge stick, particularly former 6x12 snooker players, aren't giving up anything at all in terms of shotmaking accuracy or positioning accuracy, when they need to use their bridge stick for shots they can't reach.
