Who is "qualified" to recalibrate Diamond rails?

Glen and I worked together on tring to figure the recalibration of the diamond table. Glen's idea to recalibrating the diamond table was a great idea...we talked on the phone for hours to get it right. I do want everyone to understand that Glen did not teach me how to fix sub-rails on any table, I've been doing rail Ext. and sub rail work long before I ever met Glen. I helped Bobby DeTurk get started in the right direction on sub rail work, and now 1 year later he is every bit as good as Glen and myself, in fact he has showed me some new things with rail work. Bobby has become one of the best with out doubt. Glen, Bobby, and myself understand the sub rail and cushion as how different cushions affect the play of the table. Glen and I figured the spec's for the diamond table, and it's not the same as Brunswick's spec's like people think. There's a lot more to the recalibration of diamond tables, for that fact every table you put cushions on needs to be
recalibrated correctly. Trust me Glen is and was a big help in working on tables for me and everyone he knows, so dont knock the guy, if anything be glad you get help from him. Glen knows who can and who can't work on rails right. All this don't put me higher than anyone else on this forum, but in time we will all understand the sub rails and cushions on how they work together better....it's not rocket science....it's just a pool table.
Hopefully we will all come together soon....real soon.

Nice post Mark! The mighty rkc has a real issue it would seam with progress being made that isn't his. There are skills and tools that will never see the light of day on this site. Do you know anyone with the ability to make their own tap for example on the forum. If you ever want a proprietary set of hardware I'm that Guy. Imagine being the only mechanic in 50 miles with a 5 point socket set for the 5 point hardware you use. The cost of commercially making that is ridiculous. What about a 3/8 bolt/washer for a goldcrown that stays attached inside the clearance holes so you just wheel around under to loosen and tighten without having to work the bolt through the return Really h time you reassy in commercial environment. Just saying there is a lot available on here that has no connection to Glen.

Not meaning to disrespect anyone on the list of mechanic's you posted, but only Mark Gregory and Bob Deturk know for sure what to do to recalibrate the rails on a Diamond...that I'm aware of...it's not as simple as you think Rob.

Nice post Sir.

I appreciate the kind words, but it's a little more than agreeing with me and
saying Glen this and Glen that. We all make mistakes, and yes we are held
responsible for them, but man people have to let go and go on with their
work. As long as you learn from your mistakes, want more can be asked of you.
I know Glen is hard on everyone here, but look at the changes he has helped with. Glen's a very smart guy that knows a lot about pool tables, but
everyone here can learn just as Glen and I have.

Bottom line is before you try to impress everyone on the forum,
Learn your job first...if your not sure find out from someone that does know. The only thing the people will see when you're done with the job
are the pockets and the rails...Thay don't see all the hard work you do to get the table and rails to play right. They just say...that looks great...but we know what it took to play great.
Believe me there's a lot of work to recalibrate rails....with the right tools....
some knowledge....you'll love the finished rails.
Before long everyone will be doing this work...then something new
will jump up....it's not going to stop...there's more than enough work
for everyone.

Josh - yes, please let me know. I know of one hall nearby that is getting all new ∆'s within weeks.... hopefully, you are involved in that setup.

And unsolicited from the bleachers.... good dialogue again between you guys even with the occasional personal reference. Getting an entire industry pointed in the same direction is a major undertaking that will take time, but you guys seem to take the work itself seriously so I have no doubt it will get there eventually. Makes me appreciate the US Constitution even more.... just imagine the process that it took to get that document done in those times with all the various interests involved. Elevate the conversation to the issues and not the individuals... you guys do seem to be getting closer with each "conversation". I try not to stick my nose where it don't belong, I'm just sayin'....

Mr Smooth! Nice reference to the constitution my man..

" The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests."

I'll check with Diamond and see if we can get that lined up. I'll be in touch. Thank you.
