Who is the most boring pro to watch

Beyond a shadow of a doubt it has to be Grady Matthews. The only thing more boring than watching him is playing him (which i have done....and won).

If I remember correctly and am not mixing him up with someone else, Dick Lane has a twitch of some sort.

His right hand shakes and I recall watching him wait for it to stop before pulling the trigger.

Even taking this into consideration he may still be slow and/or boring to watch.

What Danny Basavich did to this Chinese Taipai player at a recent WPC was unbelievable.

He left himself a bit of a straightish rail shot to the side pocket on the nine ball to win the match.He then took almost 2-3 minutes to make that shot to finish the poor guy off.It was tourterous to watch Danny get down-get up-get-down -get up, powder-re-powder,wipe and re wipe his cue.

You could just se the Chinese Taipai player cringing in his chair and probably thinking"just shoot the fu_ _ing ball already!" Danny really poured salt on that poor guys wounds.

He then shot in the nine and turned to the camera with a big smile and said something like" Love ya mom and dad," which was completley hilarious.

I don't think that Chinese Taipai player has suffered a more agonzing loss.

That is just absolutely hilarious what you just said.

I am pretty slow at times, and all I can say is I am glad there are slower players there to give me an excuse.

I find that good players are more careful with their cue ball placement, and their pattern play. In the defense of all the great players who are slow, I think they are taking their time not just to win a match, but to achieve perfection in playing perfect cue ball positioning. If you look at them in that aspect, perhaps you can appreciate why they shake their heads when they are 1mm off, or take so much time to look at all the angles when the shot is obvious.

While they are doing so, I honestly believe they may not realize how much time they are taking because they are so focused on playing perfect pool.

Do you think he was just stalling hoping the opponent would throw in the towel and save him having to shoot a shot that was even a little bit difficult?

Not sure what danny was up to.It was a rail shot (and rail shots need some extra care)however,not a super diffcult shot in any way.

Yes, I do remember seeing that on TV a few years back. I was thinking the same thing when I saw it. It goes to show you that the pros can pick up the pace at will when required to do so.

Back when Jeremy and Johnny played in the Ripley's Believe It or Not segment, they both played faster then.

As JAM stated, before Jeremy was “Double J,” his nickname was “Sea Turtle.” But, he didn't play slow when he was given that nickname.

I have a funny story about Jeremy's old nickname. He was in a tournament many years ago with a guy nicknamed Snake and another guy nicknamed Lizard, and he was the Sea Turtle. Everyone kept joking about all the 'reptiles' in the tournament. ha!

LOL! That's funny. It reminds me of a tournament held in Baltimore, about 20-plus years ago, and the same thing happened. Folks were laughing at the names of the players: "Turtle," "Rooster," and "Geese."

As an aside, this may be a local legend, but somebody once told me that that Maryland "Turtle" action player from that era is today the Phillippi Custom Cues guy.

I'd rather watch quality pool players like Archer, Lane, Basavich who play a little slow but play great pool than watch guys like Salvas who shoot so fast you just know they won't hold up against the top guys because of unforced errors.

Good point. But on the flip side, Rodney Morris shoots at lighting fast speeds and is one of the best out there.
