Who is this cool dude

It’s from the 2025 Derby city open 9 ball final - Pagulayan vs Filler.
Aired yesterday on YouTube
Nice! That’s a good starting point for an ID… Derby City 2025. We’re getting warmer. That narrows it down to only 3,000 pool players, 600 hustlers, 200 guys named Earl, 400 who swear they beat Efren once, and at least 40 dudes wearing that same hat… well maybe not that hat. At least he’s not in a hoodie!

But really… someone has to know that man with a stare that carries that kind of energy.

He reminds me a bit Louis Mendes who roams the streets of NYC with an old school journalist camera.
A parallel universe…

I was in a pool hall in NJ, played a few good players but beat them fairly easily. There was a guy who looked just that one sitting near my table not saying much to people, just looking around, watching us play. I told him I want to play with him since he was probably the best shooter in the place, old guy, not saying anything, just confidence and knowledge. Turned out I was wrong; he was a C player LOL

My money’s on the name Rick… and not just any Rick. One of the old-schoolers whose the nickname comes first. I’m talkin’ Slick Rick.
The story is he doesn’t run racks. He strolls through them casually while ordering breakfast in Spanish…

Mr Lunda Sr. (Travelling with Evan Lunda)
(Not sure he is ready to jump into action but he will watch the cue of his son.)
Correct, met him at Buff's. Evan handed him his man purse thingy, said keep an eye on this Pops, there's a lot of $$$$ in it. Comes back five minutes later, I said your guard dog fell asleep. Nothing was missing, I was the next chair.

Well, I guess the mystery’s over. He has a name, a hometown, probably even a Facebook account. But it was more fun when he was Slick Rick… the guy who maybe beat Mosconi in a back alley in ’68, ran five racks with a cigarette in one hand and a bourbon in the other, and vanished before the Calcutta even started.

I’m sure Mr. Lunda Sr is very proud of his son!
