What? That was the most silly thing I have seen a player do in ages. Going for the 1 9 combo on that 1st shot. That was just silly. This is from a player who has been to the DCC and played in it many times? Unbelievable. Sorry.

I would give Shane the 7 (for a dollar a game, lol).

Alex would get the same spot from me (for 2 dollars a game, lol).

I am sure a lot of you guys would bet a lot more and give them the 7 (just for the chance and honor of getting to shoot with them).

Yeah, it is an event that a player does not need to qualify to enter. I wonder, are there pool tournaments that you need to qualify for to enter? I can only think of 1, and that is the world 9 ball championships? I may be wrong about that one too. Most are open to all players, unless they are invitationals, correct? So, in a way, all open tournaments are 'amateur' tournaments, but mostly only very highly skilled players enter them.

haha maybe he could have run out 4 times :-) the table was wide open to run out . I have never understood why u would try a combination on the 9ball when the table is wide open. I think he was looking for the easy way out :-)

If the guy is only slightly better then 50% to make any shot,the 1/9 is a no brainer:wink:

And you would be wrong. A very weak player playing against one of the best players in the country, you take the 1-9 combo every day and twice on Sunday.

He had a better chance of making that then running out the table. And the table was wide open for SVB. A man's got to know his limitations, and it appears the friendly old guy knew his ;)
 
Not saying this guy is, but I've used this as a move many times when playing someone for the first time or doesn't really know me. For at least the first half of the first set I BLAST AWAY at the 9 almost every time lol. They get off their game thinking I'm just some Moran and sometimes ( this is the best ) I get lucky and the 9 keeps going 6 rails, three kisses and going in - really sends them on tilt��

We should all be able to smile at this. Dell just loves pool. We need more enthusiastic players like Dell. He might not have read a book on pool or seen a copy of a pool magazine, but he's in there plugging away.
Too bad Terrill Johnson can't smile at this; he's missing a lot. His loss.

I'm guessing Shane would rather play someone who has no idea who he is than to play Terrill, who would probably spend the match trying to ride Shane's meat lmao

What some regard as comical when watching get up and down numerous times before pulling the trigger on a shot might be an indication that Dell has problems focusing on the shot.

Those of you who wear bifocals, as I do, please look at the video of Dell again with an eye (no pun intended) to Dell's glasses and the way he looks at his shots from various angles.

He might be having trouble with his glasses; he might benefit if he had different bifocals.
Just a thought from one who has had similar trouble. I saw the same thing with skeet shooters when I was active in that sport.
