Who is your favorite snooker player?

To be honest I have never had a chance to play snooker but I love watching all the videos that get posted in this forum. Every time I start watching videos there is one guy that truly impresses me, Stephen Hendry. I absolutely love his stroke, it is the smoothest looking stroke I have seen in all of pocket billiards and I have been trying to imitate it when I play.

So who is your favorite player and why?

The Rocket would be the obvious answer. The guy is just so talented. All those guys are talented but IMO are not even close. His biggest problem is the lack of motivation. What else can he achieve?Ok he doesn`t have as many titles as Hendry or Davis but when he is on top of his game nobody can come even close. At this years London masters Ding was in very good form, he made an 147 and got demolished in the finals.
As far as technique goes Hendry is from the book. His stance, stroke...amazing

My favorite has to be Ronnie too, Mark Williams and Jimmy White after that. I just love attacking snooker and these three will give it to you every time.
We've got the World Championships coming up again, it's gonna be a tough 17 days with 6-8 hours of live snooker a day.

gr. Dave

i gotta go with ronnie. he makes it look so easy. hendry is great as well and also steve davis

Want to learn how to play the right way? Watch tapes of Hendry from the 90's. There has never been or never will be another to match his form or his dogged determination to be the best. Before he met his wife and had kids, NOBODY touched him. He is still a threat today even as a part time player.

Say what you will about O'Sullivan but his mental game is always in question. If he wants to play, he's thrilling to watch but that is rarely 100% of the time. For that reason alone he will never be able to hold a candle to Hendry.

I like Ronnie O sullivan, because he is so talented and fun to watch.

I also like John Higgin, I like his concentration and focus during his match.

I like Ding, I think he has yet reached his full potential--he has a stong mental game, and very steady stroke under pressure.

Thank you.

I have to agree here. Ronnie has too many ups and downs to be considered better than Stephen Hendry or Steve Davis. Both Steves were unbeatable in their respected primes, but to beat Ronnie you just need to catch him on one of those days.

Don't get me wrong though, I love watching Ronnie play, and he does stuff that I wouldn't imagine anybody trying in pro match. But he still has too many off days I think. Nevertheless I think that is one of the things that makes him endearing to the average player.

Oh yeah and if your going to imitate a pro players stroke, you can't go wrong with Hendry.

Certanly better to copy Hendry then Bustamante.I have no idea how he manage to hit a ball.
Which snooker player you guys hate to watch?I can`t stand Ebdon. He is just sooooo slow.IMO he is one of the best tacticians but for me is impossible to watch
p.s.I was enjoying higginson`s performance in Wales.Where is he now?is he even playing in Crucible?

mark williams, stephen hendry, are my two faves i think. mark williams i think has the most natural sort of talent, if there is such a thing. he just makes the game look so easy, he looks kinda half asleep lol, so laid back, definitely my favourite to watch on form. although he seems to be dormant last couple of seasons, no motivation.

hendry is just amazing, enough said!

i would just like to talk about ebdon as well. everyone always talks about him being boring to watch, but thats when he's out of form. he can get bogged down in himself and slows to a crawl. some players do. but on form, which is very often nowadays, the man is incredible. definitely one of the best cue actions, silky smooth, amazing player. plus he uses a tip so mushroomed it looks like a weeping willow.

In his heyday Alex Higgins would dust all of them. Ronnie is a disciple as is Jimmy White.
